The world’s largest gold miner, Barrick Gold Corporation, orders the new Progradex Sampling System for RC Grade Control at the Pueblo Viejo Mine in the Dominican Republic.

Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometres northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo. Barrick holds a 60% interest and is the operator with Goldcorp owning the remaining interest.

Pueblo Viejo, is one of the largest gold assets in the world and is poised to become a world-class operation with a projected mine life of more than 25 years.

The complex sulphide orebody requires grade control sampling of the highest quality and is why Reverse Circulation (RC) Drilling with the new state-of-the-art Progradex Sampling System have been chosen.

The PGX1350R Sampling System is not the only new feature of the drill sampling set up however. Mounted on a new T450 Schramm Drilling Rig, the package will also be equipped with a Progradex TD1200 Dust Collector to control airborne dust generated from all other emission points around the rig. For the first time, an RC Sampling Rig has the ability to be 100% dust free which is great for operators and the environment alike. It is the responsible alternative and leads the way in mine site grade control drilling.

Delivery to site of the new system is scheduled for March 2011.

Australian drill rig and drilling equipment distributor & manufacturer, Airdrill, has joined an ever growing number of companies ordering dust collectors from Progradex. This TD1350 Dust Collector will be delivered in December for fitment to a new Schramm rig. Airdrill are the registered distributors for US based Schramm Inc Drill Rigs in Australia.

Global Mining Supplies company, Supply Direct International, has placed an order on Progradex for a TD2000 Dust Collector. It will be installed as permanent plant for a Gold Room at an Ethiopian Gold Mine.

While we all celebrate the safe rescue of the 33 brave Chilean miners trapped underground at the San Jose Mine for 69 days, Santiago, Chile based rig manufacturer, Exploration Drill Masters (EDM), has placed an order on Progradex for another TD1200 Dust Collector taking their total number of orders for the quality dust collector to 7 units.

Progradex received an order today for two of its new trailer mounted sampling systems. They are both destined for the extreme conditions of the Andes Mountains of central Chile in exploration programmes with one of the largest drilling contractors in the world.

The final part of the new Progradex Sampling System to be trialed, the Fines Curtain, has been successfully tested.
